| Thank you to everyone who did not attend our April Fools Keeping kids in School Not Happening Ball! Again it was a huge success. Without the help of Jimmy Buffett we were able to raise over $5,000 to help keep kids in school. Thank you for buying a ticket and staying home.
Reva and Lauren had fun drawing the winning prize ticket from the Kids of Honor® backpack...
Who gets the lovely pearl necklace and earrings from our very REAL and generous sponsor, Kuhn's Jewelers?
The suspense mounts....
In early May, Dawn delivered the prize to her at the office, Shore Distributors.
Congratulations Mary Nelson!
Now we're looking forward to the next special event for Kids of Honor®... Graduation!
Help us encourage our local students to finish strong this year. |

| During the Kids of Honor holiday gathering, the board of directors surprised our founder with a video tribute... and a four foot Orange Chicken! Thanks to Paula Morris for all her hard work and dedication. In 2013, our chicken "Wish Upon a Star" has a new permanent home at Salisbury University in the atrium of the Perdue School of Business. Another chicken from FeatherFest, "Chicken Noodle Soup" shares the atrium, flanking the entrance. We'll post photos once they arrive in their new home.

Summer Fun for our Families
|
| Combine a bus ride with the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Cneter with a nature trail and a windy beach day and you'll get the kind fo fun activity Kids of Honor and their families shared this summer!.
Together we touched sharks, played on the beach, watched sea turtles swim and scared one another with snakes and other 'creepy' wildlife. If you want to see more photos from the trip, click here to check out out facebook page! |

| Fall Grants Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children supports the expansion of Kids of Honor's YEAH program. In September, we received $34,500! Thank you Wicomico County! Also this fall, a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore offsets our Connection Club activities for the year. Thanks to CFES, our families play, serve and learn together. |

Chili Throw Down raises $1200+
|
| Thanks to Diane & Terry Allen for hosting and Melanie Perreault for coordinating our Second Annual Chili Throw Down!
It was a great evening of Chili, Cornbread, tally sheets, silent auctions, friends and so many rediculous jokes.
Dawn Mills, Executive Director, helped the guests understand the impact of Kids of Honor® on our community.
Much whining and gnashing of teeth occurred when the judges returned with the rankings that placed Clifton Griffin at the top of the Chili competition and Melanie in third place.
Dennis Pataniczek went home with the Mickey Mouse ribbon for first place in the Cornbread Competition.
The THROW DOWN champions (photo above) are Michele Lovegrove-Second, Clifton Griffin-First, Bob Wood-Special prize for Gassiest, Melanie Perreault-Third (and not the least bit happy about her ranking!)
Thanks to everyone involved!
We'll use the money to keep Kids in School.
Melanie issued the following challenge "You go home and practice for next year!" |
