Welcome to Kids of Honor®
|
Kids of Honor® is an award winning organization recognized for excellence in nonprofits - selected because our participants graduate from high school. Each high school dropout costs communities over $260,000 during his or her lifetime. Yet for only $250 per year, we keep each of our students engaged in school. Our model is collaborative, successful, and effective.
High School Graduation – It’s important to all!
Graduation is an exciting time for most of our young people. Sadly, about a third of American youth won’t participate in that celebration. For a variety of reasons, these students ‘Drop-Out’. It’s a choice that costs our community and students in a variety of ways.

Kids of Honor® teams with Horizons
|
| Summer 2010 marks the beginning of a great partnership; Kids of Honor® and Horizons at The Salisbury School. "it's a win-win situation for our students" says Harlan Eagle, Executive Director at Horizon's. "We share a mission to keep students engaged in school and achieving their dreams."
During the first week of Horizons Summer Enrichment activities, Kids of Honor® visited to kick off the program. Many of the students and teachers participate in Kids of Honor® at their home schools. Students benefit from continued reinforcement of positive behavior and making good choices.
Instead of selecting monthly Kids of Honor®, Horizon's weekly winners and Plus Club members join the Kids of Honor® Connection Club. All of the Students leaving the Horizons' program after 8th grade now have access to the Kids of Honor® High School club YEAH. Together Horizons and Kids of Honor® become a K-12 resource for youth and their families. |

Comcast Partners with Kids of Honor®
|
It all started with partnership - a check from Comcast, a tutoring program at The Salvation Army, and a concept designed to keep youth engaged in school. These elements built Kids of Honor®. From humble beginnings in 2001 until now, Kids of Honor® continues to evolve and grow. Our philosophy is simple - if we listen to young people, they will tell us what they need. We connect our youth to people and services in the community. We reach struggling youth before the struggle becomes insurmountable. The philosophy is simple, but implementing that philosophy takes work and dedication from a wide variety of caring adults and organizations in our community. Ask our participating students and they’ll tell you, “nothing is impossible.” Click the About Us link to learn more about Kids of Honor® and our programming. We’re collaborative, successful and effective. |
